PowerBalance Admits Their Wristbands Are a Scam

PowerBalance Admits Their Wristbands Are a Scam

Technology
Okay, firstly I think that I need to make one thing clear from the start: "I told you so, I told you so, I told you so & I absolutely LOVE reading these articles!" I don't think this would surprise anyone, but PowerBalance—manufacturers of plastic wristbands with hologram stickers on it—have admitted that there's "no credible scientific evidence that supports [their] claims and therefore [they] engaged in misleading conduct." TMobileSA (Mobbee) – The modern day THIEVES of the technology industry

TMobileSA (Mobbee) – The modern day THIEVES of the technology industry

Technology
Just how much time and money one is going to waste quickly becomes apparent when one receives an SMS text message on one's cellphone similar to the following text message, which I received at 5:21pm on the 30th August 2010 from the following cellphone number: +27 (82) 0048440. The text message reads as follows: "Welcome to Mobbee. U can view unlimited content! To opt out in the promotion SMS STOP to 37459 help call 0878204085. T & C apply" Now I should start off by saying the I have NEVER subscribed to TMobileSA's Mobbee service, nor to a service called Mobbee, nor have I subscribed to any premium rated service (or other) offered by TMobileSA (Mobbee) or any of its subsidiaries. Trapster – Speed Trap Sharing

Trapster – Speed Trap Sharing

iPhone, Technology
What is Trapster? Simply put, Trapster is an application for getting speed trap alerts on your Blackberry, iPhone, Nokia, Android, Garmin, or TomTom device. How does Trapster work? When you see a trap, report it by pressing a button on your phone, or calling a toll free number. Other user's phones will alert them as they approach the trap. Trapster learns the credibility of traps based on how many users agree. It also learns the credibility of each user, over time. So how does it work? Our goal is to make it so simple that you don't need to know. But in case you are interested, it combines technologies such as GPS and wireless location, voice transcription, geocoding, reverse geocoding, and SMS, with a central database server. It communicates in…

Apple iPhone or HTC Hero Sense UI?

iPhone, Technology, Uncategorized
My new iPhone theme - looks just like the HTC Hero Sense UI - except that it's an Apple iPhone! We know that HTC Magic owners out there are pretty psyched at the news that the HTC Sense UI is available for their Android phone. However, based on this latest news, it appears that iPhone owners also have a reason to rejoice as they too can enjoy the benefits of this new user-interface! Well, it looks kinda nice, but there is no real new functionality! [gallery link="file"] [ad name="goldschmidt inline post"] Enjoy the pics!

iPhone MobileMail.app crashes after Restore?!?

iPhone, Technology
Problem: You have an Apple iPhone, and after you have done a Restore on your iPhone - probably because you have just upgraded to the latest v2.0.1 Apple firmware - you now notice that when you attempt to open your MobileMail.app application (Mail) the application is "empty", and simply closes, crashing back to the main dashboard. What gives??? You will also notice that you can't edit, add or remove any of the email account settings at all. Reason for the Problem This is caused by the sync of the backup from iTunes. The permissions on the mail folder are incorrect. The folder is supposed to be owned by "mobile", but instead it is owned by "root". This causes the application to crash, sending you back to the dashboard. The Solution…
